Scintille project
A collaborative masterplan to restore public spaces — improved, refunctionalized, and greener — as part of the City of Trieste’s project.

collaborative masterplan - 2025 / ongoing

Trieste (Italy)
The project aims to outline an integrated development plan for the neighborhoods, with the goal of improving the quality of public spaces, making them more inclusive and welcoming, and creating multifunctional and community-oriented environments where citizens can rediscover a sense of belonging and shared identity.
The studio’s work includes:
1_An analysis of public space and existing infrastructure, with particular attention to the identity-defining elements that shape the physical environment and how these are perceived and experienced by the community.
2_The development of an urban regeneration masterplan through the identification of a design atlas of public spaces in the Valmaura–Giarizzole district.
3_The identification of a pilot project that could serve as the “spark” for an urban regeneration process, initiating a sequence of interventions over a longer time frame, bringing new vitality to the neighborhood and reshaping the image of the Valmaura–Giarizzole district within the broader urban system.
