Jinshan is one of the 17 districts of the Shanghai Municipality, and is located about 60 km south of the center on the shores of Hangzou Bay, where important petrochemical industries are located. The Barreca & La Varra studio won the international design competition for the area with the “La Dolce Vita” masterplan in 2014. Later, the north-east area of ​​the masterplan was developed, referred to as the “Garden city area”: ​​the new project involves the construction of a 1 km linear theme park along the railway line. A series of pavilions will host a unique attraction in the world: a football theme park. It could be a place never seen before: a “world” dedicated to this national historic, European and Italian game, and now an emerging Chinese sport, with places to play, learn, challenge, watch, buy. The various pavilions will host commercial and entertainment functions connected with the history of football, the most widespread and popular sport in the world. The theme park will have an active role in the widespread museum system which is articulated throughout the “La dolce vita” masterplan. Connected to the park, a very large sports district contains buildings and open spaces of different sizes, which can host various activities relating to sports and commercial activities; The main pedestrian and vehicular crossing roads are organized around a Cardo and a Decumanus. A rehabilitation and treatment clinic has also been designed, which will offer services to athletes, professionals and amateurs.
