The film about 5Square in competition at Milan Design Film Festival
A screening of Luigi Cutore’s film, part of the Official Selection in the AFA Architecture Film Award section of the festival, will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. at the Sala President of the Cinema Anteo in Milan.
The 11th edition of the Milano Design Film Festival will be held from March 6 to 10. Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra will be present at the screening of the film, which features them as protagonists in telling the story of the redevelopment project of the Via Antegnati properties, which have been transformed from a place of decay into a new neighborhood of innovative and sustainable social housing.
The film’s director, Luigi Cutore, will be present with them, and together they will speak at the final Q&A.
The Official Selection of the Milano Design Film Festival presents an international competition program featuring the best and latest independent film productions related to architecture and design. Among films, documentaries, shorts and features, animated films, art videos, stories of designers of yesterday and today, and visual research, the program aims to explore themes related to architecture and design in their broadest aspects and meanings (built and research, urban planning, product and furniture, environment and sustainability, visual communication, representation and data analysis, food, mobility, fashion…).
The purpose of the Prize is to explore the relationship between architecture and cinema, promoting new ways of experiencing space and place and encouraging and motivating architects in the use of audiovisual language as a means of communication.
