Bayangol District Pool
The prototype of a structure containing complementary sports services defined by the archetypal shape of the pitched roof.
preliminary and definitive project - 2011
Ulan Bator (Mongolia)
The project for the district pool is a repeatable and comparable prototype, in other districts of the city of Ulan Bator, to the existing school complexes that need complementary sports services.
The project is therefore organized around two basic elements that make up the natatorium center: on one side the tank and the stands, and on the other the services connected to it such as the locker rooms, the storerooms, the reception and the administrative spaces. Everything is contained and covered by a large roof, a metal or wooden curtain depending on availability and contexts, which defines and connects all parts of the sports complex. These two parts can therefore be separated and reorganized into different planimetric configurations, and then grouped and contained under roofs each time designed with different shapes, layers and slopes.
