A seductive and light place, a space of affection, which makes the most of the terrace overlooking the city and belonging to the building of the Milan Triennale (Palazzo dell’Arte).

The massive bulk of this is, like the nucleus of an atom, charged with potential energy. Around the building, like electrons, the theory of small buildings – permanent or temporary – that have been produced over time, are instead loaded with centrifugal force, capable of bringing into play relations with the city and the park. Our project is a new electron in the history of the Triennale. The intervention marks the space of the terrace existing in some different parts. In the first place a central access room, next to the kitchen, which can be set up in different ways. Secondly, some “rooms” separated by curtains, open on the terrace and usable as separate areas but, if necessary, as a unitary space. Thirdly, the free space of the terrace, which can be divided into two different environments linked to different potential uses. The reduced dimensions of the intervention do not renounce a strong articulation of the parts. The rhythm of life of the Terrazza dell’Arte is the same as that of the Palace and of the events it hosts, its architectural nature is a “bridge” between the solidity of Muzio and the temporary character of all that, over time, has been built in the park.
